Water is a basic human right. Our work aims to build water wells in areas where clean water is not immediately available and provide access to clean drinking water. The lack of potable water and proper sanitation systems have increased the risk of transmission of water-borne diseases, such as cholera (The New Humanitarian, 2012). Unsafe drinking water increases child mortality rates. The water crisis also has an impact on education. Young girls are at a disadvantage because they mainly carry the burden of fetching water for their families. Even when they can attend school, they often don’t have access to separate sanitation facilities (USAID, 2017). This is your opportunity to give water and give life to underserved children, adults and seniors who are forced to drink unsanitary water.

OUR WORK IN GUINEA BISSAU!
“The island of Carache, which is part of the archipelago of Bijagos in Guinea-Bissau includes five big villages, including Ampitcham, kutcham, binti, amonde and porto. On November 18, 2012 approximately around 12 pm, 12 team members visited the Island of Carache using a canoe as means of transportation. It took them 8 hours to reach the island. Upon arrival, the team noticed a community in an indescribable isolation, with no basic structure.”

“The crisis of water quality in Cote d’Ivoire is characterized by two key problems. First, many communities, especially rural ones, face difficulties not only accessing safe drinking water but also accessing enough of it. Second, there are many difficulties in accessing sewage infrastructure and proper bathrooms, especially in urban areas. The issue is multi-faceted and impacts both urban and rural communities in different ways.”
